Cassandra Holdcroft

My name is Cassandra Holdcroft, and I originally started my career as a teacher at Westville Boys’ High School.  This was after having completed a BSc Biology and Higher Diploma in Education at the University of Natal.  I taught for approximately 10 years and then made a career change to study law.  I was admitted in 2020 with a triple admission as an Attorney, Notary and Conveyancer.

I was also accredited in 2020 as a Family Mediator with Social Justice and in 2024 as a Civil and Commercial Mediator with Conflict Dynamics.

I am passionate about mediation and view it as an invaluable option in alternate dispute resolution.  Mediation is about individuals having a conversation about an issue that outside of the safe space created by Mediation they would not normally be capable of.

My style of mediation is a combination of Facilitative and Transformative Mediation and used together, they can achieve successful settlements between conflicting parties.  Parties are helped to clarify issues, explore options, and reach agreements in a structured, respectful environment. At the same time, there is also a focus on empowering individuals and improving communication so that clients feel heard, informed, and confident throughout the process. My aim is to provide a mediation experience that delivers lasting outcomes while equipping clients with skills to navigate future conflict constructively.

My area of expertise is Family Mediation, however as a practicing Property Lawyer I would be amenable to mediating those areas of property law including disputes involving purchasers, sellers, body corporates and neighbours.  I also practice in Deceased Estates and would be available to mediate disputes pertaining to Wills, Deceased Estates and Trusts.
