Jacques de Villiers holds a BA and LLB from Rhodes University and an LLM in Environmental Law from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. As an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa, he specializes in land-legal disputes and commercial transactions.
An accredited mediator through the Society of Mediators and an associate member of the Association of Arbitrators (Southern Africa), he has 3 years of mediation experience. His facilitative mediation style focuses on constructive dialogue and practical solutions.
Currently, he advises on legal strategies aimed at aligning planning and infrastructure development with SPLUMA and the regulations. Jacques also sits on a number of Municipal Planning Tribunals and Appeal Authorities.
