Elizabeth Anne Cawthorne

I am fifty five years of age and have been employed by the National Prosecuting Authority, for the last twenty years, as a public prosecutor. I have taken early retirement and wish to pursue my career in being a commercial and family mediator. I have extensive experience as a mediator as this was required for alternative dispute resolution in my occupation as a prosecutor. Along with my LLB degree, I have completed a Woman and the Law Certificate, with Unisa, a Civil Mediation Certificate with LEAD and I am currently on a Divorce Mediation Course with LEAD, which will be completed the end of September 2026.
I am an admitted advocate and I am on the role of practising advocates. I am currently working as an associate with Cilliers Attorneys INC in Ermelo, Mpumalanga. My objective is to work as mediator in both Mpumalanga and KwaZulu Natal. I am fluent in both English and Afrikaans and am available to travel and for online mediations should the need arise.
